SHREVEPORT, Louisiana — A week after sweeping Southwest to start the conference schedule, the Eagles were on the wrong end of a sweep this weekend, falling in all three games to fourth-ranked LSU-Shreveport.
A&M-Texarkana (6-9 overall, 3-3 RRAC) lost Friday by a 4-0 score, then fell in the Saturday doubleheader, 4-1 and 11-3.
The Eagles managed just three hits Friday, including a double from Hunter Reid. Collin Fenili tossed 7.1 strong innings with five strikeouts but took the loss.
On Saturday, they struggled to hit again with just five hits in the first game of the doubleheader. Julian Macias had three of the five hits. Eric Spencer had the other two. Oscar Sanchez struck out five in 4.2 innings of work.
In the final game, the Eagles were plagued by six errors and again managed just five hits. Dylan Simmons drove in two runs and Xavier Selway bagged a double.
The boys are back home Tuesday for a 2 pm contest against Texas Wesleyan, then host a conference series Friday and Saturday against Texas College.
