Eagles' slide continues with loss at last-place Louisiana Christian

PINEVILLE, Louisiana — The A&M-Texarkana men's basketball team dropped its third straight game and fifth of the last six Thursday with a 94-87 defeat at the hands of Louisiana Christian University on the road. The Eagles (5-12, 3-8 RRAC) held a 43-41 lead at halftime but were outscored by LCU in the second half, 53-44. The last-place Wildcats 5-13, 3-9) picked up their second win in the last three outings.

Levelle Zeigler led the Eagles with 23 points on 7-of-11 shooting, seven rebounds and five assists. Justin Davis added 20 points and seven rebounds while Dezmond Washington chipped in 10 points. Raschard Greene came off the bench to add seven points and a team-high eight rebounds.

LCU had five players reach double figures in scoring, led by Gary Smith, who finished with a game-high 25. Jon'Quarius McGhee had 11 off the bench while D'Marcus Fugett, Branthony Brown and Jude Akabueze each had 10.

The Eagles play again Saturday at 4 pm on the road against LCU-Alexandria, which currently holds the top spot in the conference with a 12-5 mark overall and 10-2 in the RRAC.
