Eagles unable to stop losing streak, fall to LSUA on road

ALEXANDRIA, Louisiana — A&M-Texarkana fell behind early Saturday and never caught up, losing to LSU-Alexandria by an 87-73 count and losing for the fourth straight outing.

The Eagles (5-13 overall, 3-9 RRAC) had five players reach double figures while shooting 23-of-57 from the field (40.4 percent). Jeff Norment led the way with 21 points and eight rebounds, Levelle Zeigler added 11 points and six boards, while Dezmond Washington, Justin Brown, and Brison Waller each scored 10 points. Washington also had six rebounds.

The Generals (13-5, 11-2) also had five in double digits, led by Jaren Curry's 24 points and eight rebounds. JD Allen added 15 points, seven boardfs and five assists, EJ McQuillan and Jason Perry each tossed in a dozen, and Kashie Natt added 11.

The Eagles fell behind 45-33 at the break and were outscored by two in the second half. Both teams received boosts from their benches as the Eagle reserves put up 31 points and LSUS got 32.

TAMUT is home for three games this week, starting with LSU-Shreveport on Tuesday, Huston-Tillotson on Thursday and Our Lady of the Lake on Saturday to wrap up a busy week.
