Eagles' season ends with overtime loss to Southwest

A&M-Texarkana took University of the Southwest to overtime in Saturday's season finale at the Patterson Center, but the visiting Mustangs pulled away in the extra session for a 93-88 win over the Eagles.

The Eagles (8-20 overall, 6-16 RRAC) had a season-high six players score in double figures, including Levelle Zeigler, who posted 16 points, eight assists and five rebounds in his final game.

Justin Brown added 16 points, Christopher Coley II turned in a career-best performance with 14 points and 17 rebounds, Dezmond Washington closed out his career with 13 points and seven boards, while Justin Davis and Chauncey Williams each tossed in 10.

The Eagles outscored USW 43-39 in the first half, but the visitors forced overtime after tying the game at 76-76. The Mustangs outscored TAMUT 17-12 in the extra five minutes.

The Eagles finish the season with a 5-9 record at the Patterson Center and managed just two wins on the road in 13 games.
