The Eagles Fall to the Gold Nuggets of Xavier

The Eagles lost to the Gold Nuggets of Xavier University this afternoon on Judy Kelley Morgan Field. The first half the score was 0-0 for majority of play, however in the 33^rd minute Leonardo Menzen of Xavier would find the back of the net off an assist from Eduardo Dos Santos making the score 1-0. Seconds before the halftime whistle there would be a foul in the box giving XULA the opportunity to go up 2-0 going into the half. Gustavo Oliveira would do just that for the Gold Nuggets and the clock would run out signaling the end of the first half just seconds later. 

The Eagles were able to keep XULA on their toes after a penalty kick goal from Diego Picano off a yellow card foul in the box committed by Xavier's Fabricio Reis, the score now 2-1. Xavier would answer with a goal of their own just minutes later putting them up 3-1 with a little less than 25 minutes left of play. TAMUT goalie Seth Brown would make some clutch saves to keep Xavier from adding to the score, however Xavier's Leo Dutra was able to sneak a couple past Brown and scored the next two goals for the Gold Nuggets securing the win with a final score of 5-1. 

The Eagles fall to 4-5-2 on the season and 2-3-1 in conference play. Men's Soccer travels to Pineville Louisiana to take on the Wildcats of Louisiana Christian University next Thursday October 10^th, kickoff is set for 7:30pm.
