Rodrigues Named RRAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week

WACO, Texas (March 2, 2026) – Texas A&M-Texarkana's Jose Rodrigues and 18th-ranked Louisiana Christian's Raquel Coelho Rodrigues excelled this past week and have been honored as the RRAC Tennis Players of the Week for the dates of Feb. 23-March 1. This is the third set of weekly winners for the 2026 RRAC tennis season.

RRAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week – Jose Rodrigues – (RV) Texas A&M-Texarkana  

In TAMUT's 6-1 victory over John Brown (Ark.), freshman Jose Rodrigues and his partner Matias Penaranda defeated Lucas Borges and Santiago Jaime 6-2. Rodrigues won his singles match over Jaime 6-2, 0-6, 6-3. In the match against Blue Mountain (Miss.), Rodrigues and Penaranda beat Adriaan Engelbrecht and Kevin Kotzé 6-3. Rodrigues captured his singles match against Adriaan Engelbrecht 6-3, 6-3, and the team won 7-0. Against Rust (Miss.), the Eagles won 7-0. Rodrigues and Penaranda shut out Sebastian Pena Rodriguez and Zachary Auguste 6-0. Rodrigues beat Auguste 6-3, 6-1 in singles.

Rodriguez is a native of Alpiarca, Portugal.

TAMUT is 9-1 overall. The Eagles received 21 votes in the NAIA Men's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
