Men's Team Dominates Race in Longview, Texas

Both Eagles cross country teams traveled to Longview, Texas to run in the Nicole Leman Invitational at LeTourneau University. This was the first race of the season for both teams who dominated the competition in hot and humid conditions.

TAMUT's Isaac Cupp, a freshman from Weatherford, Texas, won the men's race with a time of 15:21.24 to lead the Eagles. Shea Johnson (JR) finished in fourth place with a time of 15:49.78 helping the men to win the team event as well. Other Eagles finishers included Nathan Ford (7^th), Alex Kline (8^th), Mark Bultemeier (12^th), Luis Morales (16^th), and Faizone Ogendo (17^th).

Head Coach Natnael Amare was pleased with the team's performance in the opening race of the season, saying "the team's performance today gave me a clear picture of where they stand in their training. Enjoying this success in the moment is important, but getting back to work will keep the momentum going.

The men will next race on September 7^th at UT Tyler, and the women's next race will be the University of Dallas Invitational on September 14^th.
