TAMUT softball falls to No. 8 Central Methodist, finishes 2-1 during Gulf Coast Invitational

GULF SHORES, Alabama — A&M-Texarkana wrapped up the 2024 Gulf Coast Invitational on Sunday with two wins in three games following an 8-0 loss to 8th-ranked Central Methodist (MO) in the finale.

The Eagles (7-9) were held to just two hits and committed five errors in the game that lasted just five innings. Central Methodist racked up 11 hits, opening the game with two runs in the first and blowing the game open with six runs in the fourth.

Kayla Martinez and Macey Cutsinger each managed a single, the only hits for the Eagles in the contest. Alexis Snyder also drew a walk. Nora Fernandez fell to 1-3 in the circle, allowing 11 hits, six earned runs and walking five in five innings.

The Eagles return to conference play Friday with a doubleheader against Southwest (NM) starting at 1 pm from Bramlett Field.
