
Eagles salvage split with Texas College as offense continues to struggle
A&M-Texarkana managed just two runs in two conference games Tuesday at Bramlett Field, escaping with a split of the series against Texas College. The Eagles took the opener, 1-0, and fell short in the second game, 5-2. TAMUT is now 10-12 overall and 5-5 in conference play.

GAME 1
Stephanie Chico improved to 5-3 in the circle with a four-hit shutout with seven strikeouts and no walks on the first game against the Steers. All four hits against Chico were singles. Madison Dingman, Macey Cutsinger and Raylene Zazueta had hits for the Eagles, and Baylee Stautzenberger drove in the only run of the contest – a sacrifice fly to score Dingman in the bottom of the sixth.

GAME 2
Dingman and Stautzenberger each had two hits in the finale, but the Steers took advantage of three Eagle errors to plate five runs. Alexis Snyder (3-6) had a good outing, scattering eight hits and allowing just two earned runs while striking out three. Texas College got on the board in the fourth, scoring once on a single and another on a passed ball. Stautzenberger singled in the fifth to score Brooklyn Ruiz, cutting the deficit in half, but the Steers scored two runs on a throwing error and another on a single – all with two outs – to put the game out of reach.
