Women's Basketball hosted the (RV) Lions of Langston University Thursday afternoon in game one of a Men's and Women's non-conference double header. The Lions would defeat the Eagles with a score of 93-41.
The visiting Lions would go on to shoot 50% from the field and 11-19 from beyond the arc, which would be the deciding factor of Thursday's game as the Eagles only shot 32% from the field and only go 2-7 from beyond the arc. The Lions would also out rebound the Eagles 36 to 29.
Leading scorers for the Eagles were Senior Kayla Williams with 9 points, Junior Allison Owens with 7 points, and Freshman Nailah Zetrenne with 6 points. Kayla Williams would also lead the Eagles in assists (3) and rebounds (6).
The Eagles will travel for an exhibition game on Friday, November 8th, but will be back in action at home for their conference opener against the nationally ranked Pilots of LSU-Shreveport in game one of the double header with Men's Basketball. Tip-off is set for 5:30pm at the Patterson Student Center on Texas A&M University- Texarkana campus.
