Women's Basketball hosted the 14th ranked Pilots of LSU-Shreveport last night for their conference opener. The Pilots would defeat the Eagles 73-60 at the conclusion of the four quarters.
The Eagles had a slow start to the game, being outscored 21-12 in the first quarter and 19-11 in the second, however coming out of halftime the Eagles had a swing of momentum and would go on to outscore the Pilots in both quarters of the second half (13-10, 24-23).
Senior Kayla Williams would lead the Eagles in both scoring and rebounding with 22 points on 8-14 shooting and 8 boards. Freshman Chioma Treasure Emeh was a force on the court both offensively and defensively, as she would snatch 3 steals and distribute 3 assists for the Eagles.
The Eagles fall to 0-3 on the season and 0-1 in conference play. Women's Basketball will host the Generals from LSU-Alexandria this Saturday, November 16th. Tip-off is set for 1:00pm in the Patterson Student Center.
