Last Minute Basket Propels the Saints Over the Eagles

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Eagles traveled to San Antonio to compete against the Saints of Our Lady of the Lake University in their first Red River Athletic Conference road game of the season. The Saints of OLLU would defeat the Eagles in a close one 66-63.

The Saints would be the first to get on the board but after two quick layups by Delfina Misiuna assisted by Chioma Treasure Emeh, the Eagles would gain the lead and hold onto it at the conclusion of the first quarter (12-9). The Saints would outscore the Eagles in the second quarter 26-14 and going into the half the Saints would have the lead 35-26. 

TAMUT would outscore the Saints in both quarters of the second half, but with less than a minute left Carlea Owens of OLLU gave the Saints a one-point lead over the Eagles and they were able to hold onto the lead and snag the win from the Eagles with a final score of 66-63.

Gigi Waddell would lead the Eagles in scoring with 14 points on 50% shooting from the field. Kayla Williams recorded 6 boards, and Chioma Treasure Emeh would add 5 assists to the mix for the Eagles. 

The Eagles will play one more game in San Antonio before beginning the trip back home. The Eagles face the Jaguars of Texas A&M University-San Antonio. The game is scheduled to be played on Saturday November 23^rd, tipoff is scheduled for 1:00pm on the TAMUSA campus.
