Williams' Record-Breaking Performances Earn RRAC Offensive Player of the Week Honors

WACO, Texas – Kayla Williams of Texas A&M University-Texarkana received the RRAC Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week award for Jan. 13-19, while Kylei Leblanc of Louisiana Christian University was recognized as the RRAC Defensive Player of the Week for the same dates. This is the 11th set of weekly awards for the 2024-25 women's basketball season.

Williams averaged 25.5 points and 18.5 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week for the Eagles. The senior forward from San Diego poured in 34 points and hauled in 21 rebounds in a victory over Texas A&M University-San Antonio, and she posted her eighth double-double of the season en route to a win over Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas). In the process, Williams became TAMUT's all-time leader in rebounds and free throws made. Her 34-point outing also tied the school record for a single game. Williams leads the conference with 9.3 rebounds per game. The Eagles improved to 5-11 in conference play and 5-15 overall.

Leblanc contributed eight blocks and three steals in a 1-1 week for the Wildcats. The freshman forward from Lake Charles, La., was credited with 19 defensive rebounds for the week including a double-double with 12 points and a season-high 14 boards in a loss to North American University (Texas). Leblanc is fourth in the conference with 8.4 rebounds per game. LCU is now 6-8 in the RRAC standings and 6-10 on the season.
