The Eagles traveled to Alexandria, Louisiana to take on the Generals of LSU-Alexandria this afternoon in a RRAC match up. The Eagles and Generals would end up both scoring 3 goals concluding the game in a draw.
The Eagles were the first to get on the board in the 15th minute off a header goal from Desiree Narvaez off a cross from Brooklyn Lattier. Shortly after TAMUT's Emma Contreras would score from distance off a corner kick from Brooklyn Lattier passed to Rylie Williams. The Generals would answer with a goal of their own in the first half from Alexia Bermejo Jo off a pass from Elke Tijink, making the score 2-1 heading into halftime.
The score would remain the same for majority of the second half, however with just under 10 minutes of play left the Generals player Micaela Nunes would even the score. Desiree Narvaez would give the Eagles the lead once more from a one-on-one take with the goalie, recovering the ball from a blocked shot and finishing it in the back of the net. However, the game was taken down into the final seconds as with 15 seconds left on the clock Sascha Backus from LSU-A snagged one last goal for the Generals, and as the time ran out just second later the two teams would tie.
LSU-A would record 15 shots for the match, 11 of those on goal, but great saves produced by Eagles goalie Ivana Robinson would hold the Generals to just 3 goals for the game.
The Eagles will be back in action at home on Judy Kelley Morgan Field next Thursday, October 17th against the Tigers of Paul Quinn. Kickoff is set for 1:00pm.
