The Eagles traveled to Hawkins, Texas this afternoon to take on the Bulldogs of Jarvis Christian. The game, originally scheduled to be played on Halloween was moved up a day due to the possibility of inclement weather. Women's Soccer bested the Bulldogs in a 2-0 victory.
Kenya Reynolds would score the Eagles first goal within the 15th minute of play assisted by Delani Chappell, and the Eagles would go up 1-0 with plenty of game left to be played. At the conclusion of the first half the Eagles had held the Bulldogs to zero shots on goal and had the lead 1-0. Coming out of halftime, the Eagles quickly added to their lead off a goal from Rylie Williams assisted by Sascha Marcellin, making the score 2-0. Freshman goalie Layla Anaya would make some big time saves in goal to hold the Bulldogs scoreless for the entire 90 minutes.
The Eagles move to 12-3-1 on the season and 8-3-1 in conference. Women's Soccer is in 5th place in the conference with one game left and have clenched a RRAC tournament berth.
The Eagles will be in action for their last regular season match this Saturday November 2nd, against Texas College at 1:00pm. Women's Soccer will also be honoring their seniors this weekend prior to the start of their game. Come out and support your Eagles and cheer them on for their final regular season game of the 2024-25 Season!
