The A&M-Texarkana volleyball team came out victorious in a thrilling conference opener this Friday night against the Golden Nuggets of Xavier University. The first of two games versus Xavier this weekend resulted in a 3-1 (25-23,25,23,16-25,22) victory for the Eagles.
Sophomore Kaitlyn Cabral provided an energetic push for the Eagles by producing 6 kills in the final set, to provide the eagles with their first conference win of the season. The Eagles move to 5-9 on the season and 1-0 in conference.
Stats leaders for the eagles this night include Cabral who tallied 12 kills and a match high 21 digs for TAMUT, alongside Alanna Deering adding 11 kills into the mix for the Eagles.
The Eagles are back in action tomorrow at home for game two of the series versus the Golden Nuggets. Game time is set for 12:00 pm.
