Volleyball Completes Weekend Sweep, Secures RRAC Regular Season Title

HAWKINS, Texas – The Texas A&M University–Texarkana volleyball team hit the road this past weekend for a two-match series against Jarvis Christian University in Hawkins, Texas. The Eagles handled business in back-to-back sweeps on Friday and Saturday, closing out their final conference games of the regular season in dominant fashion and securing solo possession of the 2025 Red River Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship — marking back-to-back titles for the program.

Friday's matchup saw the Eagles dominate from the start, winning in straight sets (25–15, 25–17, 25–6). TAMUT's offensive attack was balanced and efficient, hitting an impressive .378 as a team. Paulina Dobreva led the way with 12 kills while hitting .409, and she added 12 digs and three service aces to round out an all-around performance. Flor Lazo hit an eye-popping .615 with eight kills, and Candace Fuchs contributed seven kills and two blocks. Setters Ashley Rhame and Zoe Martinez combined for 40 assists, helping fuel an offense that never let up. Libero Lauren Herz anchored the defense with 12 digs as the Eagles rolled to the sweep.

TAMUT carried that same energy into Saturday's rematch, once again completing the clean sweep of the Bulldogs (25–14, 25–15, 25–16). Kaitlyn Cabral led the offensive charge with 14 kills and a .375 hitting percentage, while Dobreva added nine kills and eight digs. Rhame and Martinez combined for 34 assists and 10 service aces in a strong showing from the service line. Macyen Doskocil continued to make her presence known at the net with four blocks, and Herz once again led the defense with 13 digs.

Before entering the RRAC Tournament, TAMUT will host their final home match of the regular season on Friday, November 8th, welcoming NCAA Division II Southern Arkansas University to the Patterson Student Center. First serve is set for 2 p.m., and the Eagles will also take time to honor their four seniors in a special Senior Day celebration prior to the match.
