TAMUT's Cupp, Brannan receive RRAC cross country weekly honors

WACO, Texas – Isaac Cupp of Texas A&M University-Texarkana raced to the RRAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week award for Aug. 26-Sept. 1, while TAMUT's Zalenka Brannan was recognized as the RRAC Women's Runner of the Week for the same dates. This is the first award of the 2024 cross country season.

Cupp won the men's three-mile race at the Nicole Leman Invitational hosted by LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas. The freshman from Weatherford, Texas, posted a time of 15:34.40 while leading the Eagles to the team title at the event.

Brannan also placed first in the women's three-mile distance at the Leman event. The sophomore from Whitesboro, Texas, finished with a time of 20:12.89, a half-minute ahead of her next closest competitor. The Eagles also won the women's team event.
