Softball season comes to an end in final day of RRAC tournament

ALEXANDRIA, Louisiana — The A&M-Texarkana Softball team made it all the way to the third and final day of the RRAC Softball Championship, but that's where it would end with the Eagles falling 10-2 in just five innings to top seed and regular season champion Our Lady of the Lake.

The Saints put up two runs in the first and three in the third for a 5-0 lead before the Eagles (25-22) were able to get runs on the board. When TAMUT managed to get a pair of runs in the fifth, the Saints answered with a five-run bottom half to end the game via the run rule.

OLLU homered four times off senior Stephanie Chico, who closed out her final season with a 12-6 record, and a 20-7 mark in her two seasons at Texarkana. Chico gave up five hits and four earned runs in 2.1 innings before being relieved by Alexis Snyder, who pitched the final 1.2 innings, surrendering seven hits and six runs.

Karmen Searcy finished with three hits, including a double, while Madison Dingman drove in both runs. Baylee Stautzenberger, Grace Cantu, Sadie Parker, and Brooklyn Ruiz each had a hit.
