Eagles Battle to Scoreless Draw with Central Baptist

Texarkana, Texas – In a physical, hard-fought battle, the Texas A&M University-Texarkana men's soccer team earned a 0-0 draw against Central Baptist on Tuesday night at Judy Kelley Morgan Field.

The Eagles controlled the pace and created plenty of chances, outshooting the Mustangs 24-8 with a 12-4 edge in shots on goal. Diego Picano and Kevin Garay were constant threats in the attack, combining for 10 shots, while Jose Medina Cervantes and Cristobal De Leon each added multiple looks at goal.

Despite the pressure, the Central Baptist goalkeeper stood tall, finishing with 10 saves to keep A&M-Texarkana off the scoresheet. On the other end, Oliver Gregory anchored the Eagles' back line, recording two saves for his first shutout of the season.

TAMUT also dominated on set pieces, earning 12 corner kicks to just one for the visitors. The match saw six yellow cards handed out as both sides battled to the final whistle.

Men's soccer is back at home Saturday, September 13, for a non-conference contest against Wiley University. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on Judy Kelley Morgan Field.
