
Dorsett Earns RRAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week Honors
WACO, Texas – RRAC Track & Field Athletes of the Week were announced today for April 14-20 with this week's honorees including Charles Dorsett III of Texas A&M University-Texarkana (men's track), Jesse Adams of North American University (Texas) (men's field), Zalenka Brannan of TAMUT (women's track), and Alayah Gore of NAU (women's field). This is the fifth and final set of awards for the 2025 RRAC outdoor track & field season.
Dorsett claimed first place in the 800-meter run at the Dan Veach Invitational hosted by Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Ark. The senior from Fort Worth, Texas, posted a time of 1:53.43 in a field of 29 runners, mostly from NCAA Division II.
Adams placed 21st in the long jump at the War Hawk Classic in Abilene, Texas. The senior from Houston leaped to 5.97 meters in a field of 34 when he was asked to substitute at the last minute.
Brannan posted a third-place finish in the 1500-meter run on Saturday at the Dan Veach event. The sophomore from Whitesboro, Texas, registered a time of 5:05.76 in a field of 28 runners.
Gore landed in 12th place in the long jump in her first collegiate competition at the War Hawk Classic. The freshman from Houston delivered a 4.57-meter leap in a field of 21. Gore also placed fifth in the women's 400-meter dash and sixth in the 200.
