Women's Golf Gains Experience Against Strong DII Field at Battle for the Belt

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – The Texas A&M University–Texarkana women's golf team competed at the Battle for the Belt, hosted by Henderson State University, on October 12–13 at Hot Springs Country Club.

The tournament featured a strong NCAA Division II field of 11 teams, including Henderson State, Harding, UT Dallas, Southeastern Oklahoma State, McLennan CC, Arkansas–Monticello, Weatherford, Southern Arkansas, Christian Brothers, East Central, and A&M–Texarkana. The Eagles finished 11th overall in the event.

Leading the way for the Eagles was Ella Dieter, who carded a +28 to finish tied for 39th overall. Liberty Thomson followed in 49th place at +38. Anna Anglen finished 56th at +51, with Lainee McMillon and Jalee Sampley rounding out the lineup in 57th (+52) and 58th (+54), respectively.

Up next, the Eagles will travel to Brenham, Texas, to compete in the Buccaneer Fall Invite, hosted by Blinn College on October 20–21.
