Women's Soccer falls to the Wildcats of Louisiana Christian University for their second loss of the season. Going in to the match, the Wildcats were tied for second in the conference with LSU-A with a record of 4-0-1, with the Eagles right behind in 4th place. However, the Wildcats would be able to hold off the Eagles and earn sole possession of second after LSU-A tallied a loss in their match tonight.
The Wildcats would score their first goal in the 27th minute by Emma Monnet and would go into the half up 1-0. The Wildcats would score again in the 45th minute giving themselves a bit of security with the lead over the Eagles off a goal from Monnet again. However, the Eagles did not go down without a fight, as they attempted more shots and shots on goal than the Wildcats. However, LCU's goalie Jaycee Woods would come up with a save for every contesting shot by the Eagles and would hold TAMUT scoreless.
As the final whistle blew for the evening, the Eagles were down 2-0 despite their effort. The Eagles fall to 5thplace in the conference and move to 9-2-0 on the season and 5-2-0 in conference play.
Women's Soccer is back in action this weekend October 12th at Generals Soccer Field against the Generals of LSU-Alexandria. Kickoff is set for 1:00 pm.
